Maritime Shipping

Range of application is a sophisticated ship treatment plant for the purification of waste water on board of a bulk carrier. The ship is designed under sustainable circumstances.

Job definition is the treatment of sanitary, kitchen and faecal water (40 Persons, 6 m³ per day) by high performed bioreactor and biomass separation by membrane filtration. The Low Maintenance membrane modules allow a low maintenance level in operation.Task of membrane barrier downstream High Performance Bioreactors is the retention of solids, micro organisms and faecal coli forms to achieve an excellent purification quality. The achieved minimum standards are far below all maritime protective covenants. The footprint is very low (8 square meter, maximum height 2.4 m).

Built-in treatment plant

Benefits of Low Pressure DAF

Built-in treatment plant

  • Soley mechanical treatment without addition of any chemical flocculants
  • Space saving because of high overflow rate
  • Energy saving by cause of low operation pressure (3-4 bars)
  • Effluent is saturated with air therefore the system is odors-free
  • Load fluctuations and Supply variations capability
  • Full capacity is available within minutes
  • Separated sludge has a high MLSS concentration hence the volume is small

Benefits of Loop Bioreactor

Test of Control Cabinet: Climate Chamber and Vibrating Table

  • Due to compact design the footprint is very small
  • Modular design enables easy extension in futur if desired
  • High BOD-Reductionrate - Minimum standards are far below all maritime protective covenants
  • Energy Demand of biological treatment is very low due to very high oxygen availability
  • Very low surplus sludge production (5 to 10 % of a conventional system)
  • Excellent purification quality (Water reuse is possible)

Benefits of Biomass-Separation by Ultrafiltration

Hot Testing inclined position (22°)

  • High Flux Rate
  • Compact Design with low footprint
  • Effluent is grem-free and suspended solids concentration is less than 1 ppm
  • No usage of chlorine or other critical substances
  • Aligned to MBR process
